The Christmas season is one of the most beautiful times of year, no matter where you live. Why not make this holiday season extra special by dong some fun Christmas crafting. Christmas crafts are great to decorate your home as well as give as gifts, and they usually sell fairly well at craft shows and fairs. No matter what kind of crafting you like to do, Christmas crafts are a great way to help you get into the holiday spirit.

First, consider crafts for your Christmas tree. Ornaments can be made from polymer clay, doilies, fabric, old Christmas cards, plaster of Paris, and recycled materials. If you like fabric crafts, you can also consider making your own tree skirt. Don’t forget the angel on the top of the tree either-you can make that as well. Beaded garland gives a great accent to your Christmas tree, and the children can help you string brightly colored beads, so even youngsters can get involved with Christmas crafting.

The tree is just a starting point, however. Another good place to carry over with your Christmas crafts is the kitchen. If you like to sew or quilt, table runners provide a great holiday accent and are relatively easy to make. You can also create candles for a centerpiece, along with floral arrangements. Customize everything to your home’s colors and tones for a special kind of Christmas decoration.

Don’t forget that the Christmas tree isn’t the only source for gifts on Christmas morning! Your children probably love checking their stockings, and so you can make personalized stockings for each member of the family. This is a great craft to work on with children, and you can allow them to choose the colors and patterns they want for their own stocking. Buy paint to add each family member’s name to his or her own stocking.

Lastly, don’t forget that your Christmas crafts can include gifts. Instead of spending a fortune on presents for friends and family members this year, try making them yourself. Candles and soaps are popular items for the women on your list, and you can include a gift certificate to a local spa with your homemade items. For the men on your list, consider items for organization in the garage or create personalized Christmas ornaments. New mothers on your list will enjoy crocheted baby booties or dolls, and children love new teddy bears. With a little creativity, this Christmas can be very crafty.
